Strep-tag® detection systems

IBA offers two different detection systems:

  1. detection via Strep-Tactin conjugates
  2. detection via monoclonal antibodies against Strep-tag

Fluorescent Detection Trial Kits available now

Strep-Tactin® conjugates

Strep-Tactin conjugates are available as

The HRP-conjugate is used for direct detection of strep-tagged proteins in Western blots via chromogenic and/or chemiluminescence reaction, the AP-conjugate is used for direct detection of strep-tagged proteins in Western blots via the chromogenic reaction. No secondary antibody needed!

Strep-tag® antibodies

StrepMAB-Classic, the monoclonal antibody against Strep-tag is available as

The unconjugated antibody is recommended for following applications:

  • Immune fluorescence
  • FACS
  • Detection in ELISA
see also the new fluorescence detection

The HRP-conjugated antibody is used for direct detection of strep-tagged proteins in Western blots via chromogenic and/or chemiluminescence reaction (no secondary antibody needed!).

For capturing of Strep-tag fusion proteins on solid phases, please use StrepMAB-Immo, the high-affinity monoclonal antibody against Strep-tag (not recommended for Western blots).

Features and benefits

  • Versatile detection of N-terminal, C-terminal or internal Strep-tag II
  • Highly-selective, fast, sensitive

Applications

The Strep-tag protein detection system provides a means for a broad variety of assays, including:

  • Colony blot, dot blot, Western blot and ELISA procedures
  • Screening for positive expression clones
  • Monitoring expression levels and stability of Strep-tag proteins
  • Immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry
  • Protein localization and targeting studies
